INDIANAPOLIS – Women in Sports and Events (WISE) has launched an Indianapolis chapter led by various leaders striving to make the Indy community a place where women in the sports and events industry can grow and thrive.
WISE is the leading voice and resource for women in the business of sports, with numerous chapters across the country. Through a combination of programming and online tools designed to provoke thought, personal and professional growth, and engagement, WISE works to: assist women in navigating and accelerating their careers; help women understand their collective value; foster peer connections; and champion the hiring and advancement of women in the industry.
“After COVID hit our industry hard, many of us talked about what it could look like to convene women together, learn from each other, and take that back to our organizations to make us a better, stronger community for sports and events,” Melissa Thompson, WISE Indianapolis Board Chair said. “The WISE national reputation and resources combined with our high-level talent here in Indy prove that we can support and connect women in a meaningful way through this chapter, no matter where they are in their career.”
WISE Indianapolis has launched corporate and individual membership opportunities, in addition to sponsorship opportunities that include memberships for employees and elevated brand awareness to all members throughout 2023. Pacers Sports & Entertainment, the Indianapolis Colts, the Indianapolis Indians, Indiana Sports Corp, Penske Entertainment, and Markey’s have already committed to support the chapter and their employees by becoming the first Founding Members. Corporate and individual memberships can be purchased online with discounts offered based on quantity. Student memberships are also offered at a discounted rate. Benefits include networking opportunities, access to the WISE online member directory, numerous mentoring programs, and complimentary access to chapter signature events which include Speed Mentoring Roundtables, Power Play, and Financial Fitness.
The first WISE Indianapolis Chapter event, Speed Mentoring Roundtables, will take place on Monday, January 23 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with seasoned leaders and peers to discuss career and professional development topics that are important to them.
